They help ensure that employers cannot improperly label workers as \u201cindependent contractors\u201d to avoid basic responsibilities, undercut union standards, and weaken protections for working people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The business community, including the New Jersey Business and Industry Association, Associated Builders and Contractors, and gig companies, is expected to use this hearing as a forum to attack the regulations and urge legislators to repeal or weaken them.
